We are doing a Straw Hat first.  We are holding our own garage sale.  Boy is it fun.  We have marked some items $10 (includes some shoes) and other items are $20.   There is some really cute stuff on these racks.

Speaking of garage sales.   Do you remember good old corning ware?  You know, the kind you can cook in, refrigerate, and then reheat.  When I remarried I did a dumb thing….remarrying was not the dumb thing.  But to make room for all his stuff…I gave away my corning ware.  When I realized that was, indeed, a mistake I went to Bed, Bath to get some more.  All they have now is stuff to bake in.   Where did it go?    So, if any of you see any at other garage sales; I will pay you for your efforts to pick it up for me.

Have a great day!

Charlene

Mary Alberta Ross, better known to us as Berta, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008.  She is survived by her sons Chuck and Roger and by her daughter, our very own Randa.  She had lots of grandchildren, and even more great grandchildren, all of whom will miss sorely “Mama Ross”.   Many of you will remember meeting Berta.  She always had her nails and toes polished, her jewelry matched, her shoes were always precious and, of  course,  coordinated with whatever darling outfit she had chosen for that day.  Remember, she was present at the last Austin Cunningham concert and was more lively than folks half her age.  On that occasion, she only had her big toenail painted…because that was the only one that showed!   She was a kind and generous lady (lady is the only word that describes Berta) who opened her home to me personally at a time when I was grief stricken and needed some tender loving care.   I salute you, Berta, for the lady you always were and for the wonderful memories you left behind.

Bye Berta.

Please remember Berta’s family in the days ahead.

Love, Charlene

Please don’t come see us on Saturday, August 30th and on Monday,  September 1st, cause we won’t be open then.   We will be eating barbecue and just sitting around.

HAPPY LABOR DAY TO YOU ALL.

Charlene and Randa

Have you gotton your new BRA-llelujah by Spanx?   If not, you are one of the very few without one.   I can personally testify that it is like not wearing a bra at all.  At last, we women are free and I can guarantee it will make you sing hal-allelujah, halallelujah, halallelujah.   Come and get em yall.

Love,

Charlene and Randa

Yesterday was my birthday.  More than anything, I wanted to be treated to the movie, Mamma Mia.   My husband, Terry, absolutely refused to go.  So, my sweet daughter, Jennifer stepped up and volunteered (sort of).   Any rate, I found the movie charming, uplifting and just delightful.  Jennifer, on the other hand, says “Terry owes her bigtime!”

Most of you know Theresa.  She’s here frequently, although, never enough.  She’s short with beautiful dark curly hair.  She’s the one who always, and I mean always, has a happy face.  She is constantly upbeat.  It’s contagious and spreads to all of us.  High gas prices, high grocery prices, there has been nothing that could wipe that smile and sweet laughter away.  Until now.  Her husband, Robert, has been diagnosed with a serious illness.  His biopsy is on Tuesday.  I am asking that everyone please pray that our God will touch this family in a very special way.  We want Theresa to have her smile back.
